You Were Chosen Before the Foundation of the World

Pastor Simmons | June 10, 2026

There are moments in life when we question our value, our purpose, and even our place in God's plan. We look at our mistakes, our failures, our disappointments, and wonder if God can still use us.

The Book of Ephesians answers that question with a resounding yes.

Before you were born, before your parents met, before the world was formed, God already knew you. More than that—He chose you.

Chosen by Grace

Ephesians reminds us that our salvation is not something we earned. It is not based on our good works, our abilities, or our accomplishments.

It is a gift.

God's grace and mercy made a way for us to be reconciled back to Him through Jesus Christ. Every breath we take, every step we walk, and every opportunity we receive is evidence of His grace at work in our lives.

The truth is simple:

You could not save yourself. You could not heal yourself. You could not deliver yourself.

But God's grace reached where your strength could not.

You're Not a Mistake

Many people spend years believing the lie that their life has no purpose.

Some feel disqualified because of their upbringing. Some because of past failures. Some because of the labels others placed on them.

Yet Scripture declares that God chose us before the foundation of the world.

That means your existence is not an accident.

Your circumstances may have been unexpected.

Your struggles may have been painful.

But God's purpose for your life has never been in question.

You are here because God wanted you here.

Freedom from Condemnation

One of the enemy's greatest tactics is convincing believers to live under condemnation.

He constantly reminds people of what they did wrong.

He points to old mistakes.Old sins.Old failures.

But God does not.

When we repent and place our faith in Christ, He forgives us completely.

God doesn't just forgive our sins—He removes them.

The same God who restored Peter after he denied Christ is the same God who restores us today.

You do not have to continue carrying guilt for something Jesus already paid for.

The debt has already been settled.

Called to Holiness

Holiness is not simply about outward appearances.

True holiness begins in the heart.

When God's Spirit lives within us, it changes how we think, speak, act, and live.

It is not about trying harder.

It is about surrendering more completely to the One who is holy.

When Christ transforms us internally, the evidence naturally becomes visible externally.

The Ministry of Reconciliation

Every believer has been given a mission.

We are called to help reconcile people back to God.

Our testimonies matter.

The pain we've endured, the mistakes we've overcome, and the victories God has given us become tools He uses to encourage others.

Someone is waiting to hear how God brought you through.

Someone is waiting to hear that forgiveness is possible.

Someone is waiting to discover that God's grace is bigger than their past.

Keep Going

Life is not always easy.

There are seasons of loss.Seasons of grief.Seasons of uncertainty.

But God's purpose remains unchanged.

What the enemy intended for destruction, God can use for His glory.

Your story is not over.

Your calling is still active.

Your purpose is still alive.

And no matter what you've faced, God is still saying:

"That one belongs to Me."

Because before the foundation of the world, He chose you.
