Chosen: God's Love Never Stops Pursuing You

Lady K preaching a powerful sermon on Hosea and Gomer at Fresh Wind Community Church, teaching about God's love, forgiveness, restoration, and what it means to be chosen by God.

A Message from Lady K on Hosea and Gomer

Sometimes being chosen by God doesn't feel like a blessing.

It can mean standing apart when everyone else is fitting in. It can mean obeying God when His instructions don't make sense. It can mean trusting Him when your emotions, circumstances, and even your own understanding are pulling you in a different direction.

During this powerful message, Lady K reminded us of a truth every believer needs to hear:

"I am chosen."

Not chosen by accident.

Not chosen by popularity.

Not chosen because we earned it.

But chosen because God predetermined that we belong to Him.

The Challenge of Being Chosen

Many people think being chosen means life will be easier.

Scripture teaches something different.

Being chosen often requires obedience when obedience is uncomfortable.

Lady K shared how God frequently tells us to do things that challenge our flesh:

  • Stay quiet when you want to respond.

  • Forgive when you want revenge.

  • Trust when you want control.

  • Wait when you want immediate answers.

The reality is that many of our delays are not God's fault. They come from our own choices. God directs us, but we must decide whether we will follow.

Hosea and Gomer: A Picture of God's Love

The heart of the message focused on the story of Hosea and Gomer.

God instructed Hosea, a faithful prophet, to marry Gomer, a woman known for an unfaithful lifestyle. At first glance, it seems like an unusual command. Yet God was using their relationship as a living illustration of His relationship with His people.

In this story:

  • Hosea represents God's faithful love.

  • Gomer represents humanity's tendency to wander.

  • The marriage represents God's covenant with His people.

Time after time, God's people turned away from Him. Yet God continued to pursue them with mercy, grace, and love.

The message was clear:

We are all Gomer at some point.

Every person has fallen short. Every person has missed the mark. Every person has needed God's grace.

Don't Ghost God

One of the most practical moments of the sermon challenged believers not to ignore God when life becomes comfortable.

How often do we pray:

"Lord, if You help me, I'll spend more time with You."

Then God answers.

The crisis passes.

The blessing arrives.

And suddenly, our time with God disappears.

Lady K challenged the congregation not to "ghost God" after receiving His blessings.

God desires more than occasional prayers during emergencies.

He desires relationship.

He wants our attention on Monday just as much as Sunday.

We Need Each Other

The message also highlighted the importance of accountability and compassion within the body of Christ.

Too often, believers are quick to criticize people who fall but slow to help restore them.

When Gomer found herself broken and enslaved by the consequences of her choices, people talked about her situation, but few offered help. Lady K reminded us that believers are called to restore, not simply observe.

Everyone is carrying something.

Everyone is fighting a battle.

Everyone needs grace.

Instead of asking, "What did they do?"

Perhaps we should ask, "How can I help?"

Forgiveness Like God Forgives

One of the most beautiful moments in the story occurs when Hosea purchases Gomer back and restores her. Rather than holding her failures over her head, he welcomes her home.

This mirrors the heart of God.

When we repent, God doesn't keep a list of our past mistakes.

He forgives.

He restores.

He gives us another chance.

The same grace we desire from God should be extended to others.

God Is Still Calling You

No matter where you are today, God has not stopped pursuing you.

You may have wandered.

You may have made mistakes.

You may feel unworthy.

But God's love has not changed.

Just as Hosea pursued Gomer, God continues to pursue His people with mercy, grace, and restoration.

You are not forgotten.

You are not disqualified.

You are not beyond redemption.

You are chosen.
